They provide stunning sea and beach views from the vast majority of its 45 dedicated canvas tent lots. Soldiers Point is close to Port Stephens, and lies almost 3 hours north of Sydney.

3.Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay, NSW 

Booderee National Park grants you access to the most blinding-white sand beaches in the world along Jervis Bay, on NSW’s south coast. This is one of the best camping spots in Australia. There are three un-powered camping areas in the park and if you’re heading there in the winter, you can see humpback and southern right whales begin their northerly breeding migration to warmer Queensland waters. They make the return journey with their calves from September to November.

4.The Fortress, Grampians National Park, Vic

This is a great place to sleep with no tent! You can roll out a sleeping mat at this rocky overhang overlooking the mountainous Grampians landscape. The Fortress is the first stop on a three day overnight hike – 4.3 km from the Harrop Track car park. Ensure you register with Brambuk – the national park and cultural centre – and you might want to bring a tent just in case.

6.Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park Yallingup

The most northern point of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge is where Cape Naturaliste is located. Here, a lighthouse is a maritime guide for ships. There are bush walking tracks nearby with incredible views over the cape including a whale lookout.The granite formations of Canal Rocks and Sugarloaf Rock offer dramatic scenery and are popular among experienced fishermen.

Purnululu National Park is a world heritage site which is home to the Bungle Bungle Range of Western Australia’s Kimberley region. It is one of the most unique and captivating range on Earth.
Take in the full spectacle of these curious beehive domes on a scenic flight from Kununurra, Broome or Halls Head, or an open-door helicopter flight from within Purnululu itself.
