My Absolute Favorite Experience in Iceland – A Scenic Helicopter Excursion

Helo Scenic Helicopter Tour Iceland

This experience was beyond words so I hope you enjoy the photos of our helicopter tour with Helo Helicopters.  Flying over Reykjavik is gorgeous but once you get to the ocean and fly along the coast over the mountains it is breathtaking, especially with the giant glass doors on their Bell helicopter. I was so stunned by the scenery tears came to my eyes. Our pilot Eggert was great at pointing out interesting landmarks. There was also awesome inspiring music like U2’s “Beautiful Day” playing softly. We soared over Iceland’s highest waterfall, over the mountains and landed on Langjökull glacier. Being the only people for miles on the snowy glacier was unbelievable! We flew over Gullfoss  Waterfall and saw rainbows. We even stopped at the Geysir geothermal area and we able to go see the geysir close up! The ride back was more amazing coastal mountains. This was the highlight of my entire Iceland trip!

Absolutely GORGEOUS pics!! I’ve never done a helicopter ride and I’ve never been to Iceland but seeing these photos makes me want to put it on the list for sure. As someone afraid of airplanes perhaps being a bit lower to the ground in a smaller aircraft would help me transcend some of that fear…! Thanks for sharing 🙂
