5 pointz whitewashed demolished long island city

It saddened me when I heard today that during the night they whitewashed all of the art off of 5 Pointz in New York City. The will soon knock it down to create luxury condos. The warehouse featured beautiful art from over 1,200 artists. I have been visiting here since 2008, when I did a wedding dress photoshoot. I thought since 5 Pointz is gone I would share some of my photos of it of a recent visit with my friend Finley. (Wedding dress photos Credits: Brett Szemple)

That’s such a shame that they’ll be tearing the building down on top of whitewashing it all. The place was so much more interesting prior to painting it over; I guess some people will just never get the beauty/cultural value to art… Beautiful post though, so many colors; it’s invigorating to the eye! 😀
