A Magical Yurt Hideaway and Faeries in an Apple Orchard on Vancouver Island

IMG_79677This was my first time staying in a yurt! Merridale Ciderworks is a picturesque property in the Cowichan Valley featuring a bistro, bakery, two yurts, distillery and apple orchard.  The yurt was amazing and their cider is the BEST! My friend John and I were the only ones staying on the property so it was pretty neat to explore the grounds on our own.

We indulged in some yummy cider while we searched for all of the delightful faery doors around the property. Legend has it that fairy doors are gateways to the world of faeries. They are magical portals that can appear and disappear on a whim. Only those who believe will be able to find them.

Merridale Ciderworks is worth a visit just to enjoy some cider and go for a walk around the orchard. The Merri Berri Craft Cider was my favorite! I had a great night’s sleep and in the morning they brought us coffee and fresh homemade cinnamon rolls.
