The Biggest Hazard of Taking a Roadtrip in Iceland

  • Share

Yes, the weather can get pretty crazy in Iceland creating icy roads and poor visibility. There are one way bridges, reindeer and sheep to look out for. However the biggest hazard of taking a roadtrip in Iceland is that you will  fall in love with the raw beauty of Iceland and no other roadtrip will compare to the 830 miles around the country of  non-stop waterfalls, rainbows, fjords, wild horses, gorgeous lakes, majestic glaciers, valleys, black sand beaches, hot springs, sunsets and dramatic mountains.

Many thanks to Marissa Merrill for driving our car “Ruby” from SADcars like a champ on our adventures in Iceland!

That truck accident looks insane! We’ll be there in a week – though hopefully a lot for the ice will have been melted down because it will be Summer!!

Wow! Incredible photographs of Iceland. I added this post to our Pinterest Iceland planning page. We started our road trip blog last October, and we would love to learn specifically how to make connections with car rental companies for sponsorship such the one you had with SADcars. Thanks again for your cool post!

lol. When a buddy and I went to Iceland we also rented from SADcars – it added a bit more adventure and character to the trip. We also had a RAV4, which may have been the exact same car you had.

    Love that country.

Hey Anna! Great pictures! Which month did you go to Iceland? I am thinking about renting a car in April, but I am worried if it will be icey and snowy?
