I knew that with a motto of “Rebels Against the Ordinary” Hotel ZED in Victoria, British Columbia would be cool, but it was even crazier than my friend John and I expected! Named “Hotel ZED” because Canadians pronounce the letter “Z” as “zed” instead of “zee”. The colorful retro decor reflects the genuine personality in this hotel! This is the place to bring out your inner child, the even have complimentary bikes for guests! With rooms starting at under $100.00 this special place is a great value!15-IMG_6381They had ping pong tables and Wii stations!21-IMG_6394Typewriters so you could write a cool note or send a letter to a friend!

Complimentary shuttle for hotel guests in their ’67 VW Bus! Awesome to catch a ride downtown and not have to worry about parking!

This hotel looks amazing! I love the typewriters…I would spend my time click-clacking away on those and then going down the waterslide. My boyfriend would LOVE the record listening station. Great review! Will definitely check them out if I ever head to the area!

Actually that isn’t correct. However it is correct to say that Americans pronounce the letter “Z” as “zee” instead of “zed”. Just thought that I would correct that for you. 🙂 Is is after all, the “English” language!

thats what i was thinking, everyone says Zed, Americans say Zee.

wasn't this the cracky shack traveller's inn on Douglas?

  5. Kimberly Saunders-Robertson says:

No that's up a ways and is under construction. This is right across from Mayfair Mall and 2 steps down from a Starbucks

There were a number of traveller's inns on Douglas that could be described as "cracky"

I love boutique hotels, ever since staying at the Chelsea in New York years ago. Now I seek out these kinds of artistic and quirky places when I'm travelling. They are always more fun than a corporate hotel, and not as unpredictable as an airbnb. Glad Victoria has something funky to send my friends to.
