5 Things Not to Miss During Sydney Summers

Summer in Sydney is a wonderful time of year to visit Sydney. It’s the best beach weather and Sydney has many wonderful beaches. Summer starts on December 1st and finishes on February 28/29th. There are many interesting things to experience.

Explore Sydney on Foot

Walking is a quite a great way to really experience city life. A walk through the Royal Botanic Garden is a great way to start the day, or explore the lovely Sydney Harbor National Park. Follow the iconic Bondi to Coogee coastal walk for spectacular views. Take the opportunity to enjoy the Glebe Foreshore Walk, with stunning views over Blackwattle Bay a number of cafes along the way.

Arts and Summer Events

Sydney’s arts and culture scene thrives thanks to its galleries, museums and vibrant summer festivals. There are many fabulous Sydney summer events. Visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art for some of the city’s best artwork, including the Sydney International Arts Series, or explore the galleries and studios of Chippendale.

Celebrate Australia Day

On 26 January each year, Australians come together to celebrate their national day. The date commemorates the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet from Great Britain, reflecting the nation’s diversity and achievements, its past and its future. On Australia Day, half of the nation attends either an organized community event, or get together with family and friends with the intention of celebrating our national day. Dining and Cafes

Food lovers have a plethora of choices in Sydney this summer. From waterfront dining with spectacular views, to the excellent cafes of Chippendale and Alexandria, to the hip bars of Darlinghurst and Surry Hills; to Sydney’s up and coming dining precincts, Sydney has something for everyone.

Beautiful Beaches

Sydney is a beach town at heart, with miles of pristine golden sands and warm waters. Visit the beaches of Bondi and Coogee in the east, Maroubra and Cronulla down south, or Manly and Palm Beach up north. Try surfing or snorkeling, or dine at one of Sydney’s many delicious beachside restaurants.
