Reykjavik Bus Hostel – Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavík Bus Hostel Iceland

What a stellar hostel! After a long exhausting journey to Iceland for myself and my friends Marissa and Christine, the hospitality at the Reykjavík Bus Hostel was a welcome delight. My first impression was how incredibly friendly the staff was,  they were even able to check us into our four bunk bed dorm room early! No other person was booked in our room so we were lucky to have it to ourselves. They do provide lockers in the dorm style rooms free of charge but as we were the only ones we did not use them. All three of us promptly went to sleep grateful for their comfortable pillows and duvets. I grew up sleeping in a bunk bed so there is something nostalgic about it for me.

We woke up in the afternoon and explored the spacious hostel. This hostel is SO clean, I would go as far as to say the cleanest hostel I have ever been to. The kitchen has two refrigerators and all of the cookware and dishes you might need. They also have sections on the shelves and in the refrigerator to place your food according to your room number. In high season they offer free toast and jam! No big shared bathrooms here, they have private, modern and tidy bathrooms. The WIFI worked great everywhere in the hostel and there were plenty of power outlets!  The decor in the hostel is creative, chic and full of character, it really has a great atmosphere! They have a huge lounge area with couches, tables, a bar, espresso machine, computer, music and books to read! It’s super cozy at night as they light real candles all over the lounge.

The real shining gem of the Reykjavík Bus Hostel is the staff! They went above and beyond to help us with storing our bags, what to do, directions and so many other things. It is about an eight minute walk to the bus station, 10 minutes to downtown and there is a convenience store close by. They also have tons of free parking. I highly recommend booking this hostel when you first get to Iceland and on your last couple of days in Iceland. It was quite nice at the end of trip to return somewhere so familiar with such kind staff.
