The Cheapest Car Rental in Iceland

  • Share
Iceland Ring Road Trip Northern Lights

From my experience, taking a roadtrip is the second best way to see the incredible Iceland landscape (First being if you have some extra cash to splurge by helicopter). I’ve always loved a bargain and renting with SAD cars is definitely a bargain! Most of the cars are over ten years old but they are clean and kept in good shape. They picked us up from the airport and brought us to our Toyota which we named Ruby. I highly recommend getting the GPS and it was nice to have a car with extra space for our sleeping bags, tent and other gear. We drove the 830 miles around Iceland through the mountains and blizzards with no problems! The heated seats were amazing and we bought an adapter to play music from our iphones through the radio. If you bring the car back with a few scratches, no problem. Overall we had an amazing roadtrip!

Seriously awesome photos – we’ve just done Iceland and also rented with SadCars – loved our roadtrip so much! Sadcars are the best!

Heated seats seem like they would be amazing in that weather. And GPS is a must, just as you recommend.
